If I’m honest, transitioning from child-rearing to adolescent parenting was extremely challenging for me. I think that might be normal? Someone tell me that’s normal.
And now, my kiddo isn’t really a kiddo anymore. He’s almost twentyfreakingone!
These days, our relationship is easier with a lot of curiosity, observing, and support-giving on my end. Jackson is a critical-thinker, a responsible student, works smarter not harder, isn’t afraid to try new things, and still extremely focused on reaching the goals he’s set for himself.
And we still have hard conversations from time to time – which is the hallmark of a secure and loving relationship (in my book, anyway!).
I think I like this whole mom of an adult child thing!
